Versions and licenses

The catalog has 117 versions in 69 languages, the same one served by the public Midvash API. Only versions in the public domain or under an open license are included, so the AI can quote them freely. Translations with reserved rights are not available here.

Versions marked “credit” use licenses such as Creative Commons. The AI receives the credit line at the end of every text from them.

Which Bible version does the AI use?

The first version on your link. You can ask for any other version on your link by name. A link with no version uses the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), in English.

Why is my favorite translation missing?

Many popular translations have reserved rights and cannot be redistributed. Here we only include versions in the public domain or under an open license. You can read many more on midvash.com.

Does search work in Hebrew, Greek and Arabic?

Yes. Search works in every language of the catalog, ignores accents and letter case, and finds Hebrew and Arabic words typed without vowel marks.

Do you store what I ask?

No. Your link only says which versions to use. We do not ask who you are and we do not store your questions.
